The easiest way to waste stubs in the Guardians-versus-Rays program is to buy roster replacements before checking which missions can progress together. Before spending MLB 26 stubs on upgrades, verify that your 2026 Postseason cards count toward both 2,026 Parallel XP goals. The same eligible performance can move two counters, while a card that misses either requirement contributes nothing to the overlap. That distinction matters more than a small rating bump when Richie Palacios is waiting at 50 program points.
Build Around the Parallel XP Overlap
Start with the card filters, not the lineup's overall rating. Put eligible Guardians and Rays 2026 Postseason players in your squad, then check the mission panel before loading into a mode. One objective is team-based and the other is series-based, so shared cards are your most valuable lineup slots. A strong player who fails either filter cannot make up for the mismatch with better attributes.
Keep eligible hitters in the lineup while they are still advancing both counters. A pinch hitter can preserve that overlap late in a close game, but check the card's series and team status before using a substitution. If the tracker does not move after a game, review the mode and player eligibility before changing the roster or spending currency on another card.
Give Each Pitching Mission Its Own Plan
The Guardians requirement is nine strikeouts, so use a Guardians starter to handle as much of the workload as the game allows. Work ahead in the count, then vary locations: a breaking pitch near the edge can draw a chase when you are ahead, while a reliable strike is safer when you fall behind. Avoid forcing strikeouts with waste pitches that inflate counts and bring your starter's stamina down early.
The Rays objective asks for four innings pitched, not four innings of dominant strikeouts. Use a Rays starter for the full threshold if the matchup and stamina permit; otherwise, combine Rays appearances only in a mode where the tracker credits them. Check the mission panel after the game rather than assuming every pitching appearance counted. This keeps the Rays innings task separate from your Guardians strikeout plan.
Use Moments to Fill the Actual Point Gap
Nine Moments are worth three points apiece, for a total of 27. That makes them a dependable route to program progress, but completing every one before trying the missions can mean extra games. First play modes that advance your eligible PXP or pitching objectives, then compare the program track with the 50-point Richie Palacios target.
Use Moments to cover the remaining gap, and choose available scenarios that suit your strengths. A hitting Moment may be quicker for a player comfortable with timing, while a pitching task can be more reliable if its required outs are straightforward. Confirm the point reward before starting; do not assume a Moment also advances a separate mission unless the tracker shows that it does.
Separate the Program Track From Collection Progress
The five player cards also matter for the 2026 Postseason Collection, but collection progress and the program's 50-point track are different goals. If Freddy Peralta is your longer-term target, these cards can contribute toward the collection count. Still, do not treat the collection as a prerequisite for Richie Palacios. Claim the program rewards you have earned, then check the collection total on its own.
Before using currency to fill a perceived roster gap, confirm both the mission tracker and collection count; a card may help one goal without helping the other. Once the 50-point path is secure, spend MLB stubs only when a specific roster need remains, and keep your squad flexible for the next Postseason objective.
