Some weekly activities ask for a full evening of racing. The Hokubu Treasure Hunt doesn't. It's more of a short road trip with a bit of detective work attached, and the payoff is worth the effort. The event can hand you 100,000 Credits, which is a useful boost when you're saving for a new car or trying to pay for a serious upgrade. You'll also make progress on the Festival Playlist, so this isn't just a cash grab. The key is not to charge straight into Hokubu and hope the chest appears. Read the clue, work out what it's asking, and then use the map with a little patience. That approach will save you time and leave more FH6 Credits in your account for the things you actually want.
Read the Clue Before You Drive
The clue is the starting point, and it usually contains more information than it seems to at first. Look for references to a road type, a landmark, a class of vehicle, or a particular driving action. Sometimes the wording points towards a location. In other cases, it tells you what you need to do before the treasure area opens. Don't assume that a fast car will solve everything. If the clue mentions dirt roads, jumps, or a rough stretch of terrain, a rally build or capable off-roader will make the job less frustrating. You can change cars from the pause menu, so there's no need to drive halfway across the map in the wrong vehicle. Once you've completed the clue's objective, check the map again. The search zone should appear in Hokubu, and that's when the actual hunt begins.
Search the Hokubu Zone Properly
The chest won't always be sitting beside the main road with a bright sign above it. It may be tucked behind a building, near a fence, below a slope, or just off a bend where the camera doesn't give you a clear view. Drive around the outside of the marked area first. That gives you a sense of its shape and helps you spot useful landmarks. Then work across the zone in small sections instead of looping around at full speed. A slower car can actually be helpful here. You'll have more time to notice the chest, and you're less likely to fly past it while watching the minimap. If the terrain is awkward, switch to the drone camera or climb a nearby hill. From above, the chest's position is often much easier to pick out.
Break the Chest and Take the Payout
When you see the treasure chest, line up a clean approach and hit it. You don't need a perfect racing line or a massive jump; a controlled run is usually enough. The reward should be added as soon as the chest breaks, along with the relevant Playlist progress. If nothing happens, check whether the clue objective was completed properly. It's easy to mistake a nearby event or a similar driving task for the one required by the hunt. Fast travel can also help if you've wandered outside the search area, but don't leave before checking the immediate surroundings. Once the reward lands, spend a moment deciding what to do with it. A new car is tempting, though a few well-chosen performance parts can make an existing favourite much more useful.
Make the Trip Count
Hokubu is a good place to combine activities rather than treating the Treasure Hunt as a standalone errand. Before heading home, look for nearby Speed Zones, Drift Zones, danger signs, or seasonal events that fit the car you're already using. You may also find that the same vehicle works for a Photo Challenge or a Playlist championship, which saves a second trip across the map. Keep a reliable off-road car and a quick road car in your garage, then choose between them based on the clue and the surface. The hunt itself normally takes only a few minutes once you know how to search, but the wider route can produce extra XP, Wheelspins, and Festival Points.
